Could you please elaborate in more detail on the course of the national consultations process and measures being considered to improve the investigation and prosecution aspects of sexual and gender based violence, including domestic violence?

The Department of Probation and Child Care Services under the MWCASE conducts
programmes on creating and establishing rights-based environments for marginalized
children from urban, fishery, indigenous and Estate sectors. Already they have conducted
programmes to develop the psycho-social condition and leadership skills of these children,
to raise awareness among parents, elders, certify security to protect child rights, to develop
basic logistics of their schools and to issue birth certificates to children living in the Estate

Establish a disaggregated database on women heads of households to be used uniformly in welfare and resettlement policies and programmes, including to ensure that women heads of households and internally displaced persons have targeted psychosocial and livelihood assistance, as well as adequate and durable access to housing.

Ratify the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (OP-CRPD).

JS7 noted that women who have disabilities faced sexual harassment and sexual exploitation in the home, community, work places and in society at a serious level with hidden or undiscovered incidents. [Para 64]
